No admission fee for attendees. Exhibitors belonging to the
Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce paid a
$50 exhibition fee. Max: 25 exhibitors.
Home-based business opportunities were available, as well as
other viable forms of self-employment.
No other Tampa Bay Area Chamber of Commerce has ever
had an event like this.
Outcome: Very, very successful. A steady stream of very
serious business seekers turned out. See pictures below:

Business After Hours Home-Based Business Celebration
By The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce. Event
Held At Cross Creek Ranch, the homebased business of a Chamber member on October 12, 2004.
There were two tables for exhibitors to
place their business cards, brochures, and
other marketing materials.
Outcome: Substantially exceeded everyone's expectations.
Normally, about 100 people attend monthly after-hours
events by the Brandon Chamber.
This function smashed a the previous 100 average, as
250 showed up. Many of these attendees were non-members
of the Brandon Chamber, a wonderful opportunity to be sure.

of this NAWBO Chapter.

Background of National Home-Based Business Week
Beverley Williams, Founder and Former President of the
American Association of Home-Based Businesses, declared
the first Home-Based Business Week in 1994 in the "Chase's
Events Calendar," a McGraw Hill publication, to promote
and raise the professional image of homebased businesses,
bringing media attention to the industry.
Home-Based Business Week is always the second week of
October and is so noted in the annual edition of "Chase's
Events Calendar."
Certain Tampa Bay Area chambers of commerce have
agreed with Alquist Enterprises that a celebration of
Home-Based Business Week is a desirable and necessary
thing to do.
These events give self-employed persons the opportunity to
showcase their business opportunities to opportunity seekers.
These events also dispel the negative perceptions and myths
regarding America's millions of successful home-based
businesses.
A business is a thing, not a place.
