An AMSOIL Dealer is a self-employed person and, as a result, is an independent AMSOIL Dealer.

1. John was senior marketing executive in two large world class multi-billion dollar banking firms for a total of 15 years, including nine years as Corporate Vice President & Marketing Director of BarclaysAmericanCorporation, a huge consumer and commercial finance operation.
2. John has been a professional public speaker for 25 years, speaking on consumer marketing, self-employment, motivation, and the Internet.
3. John has been self-employed since 1987 as a business consultant, business plan writer, network marketing Dealer (Enrich International --now Unicity--and Matol KM), and co-owner of an Internet website creation firm, which he had the vision to start in 1997 when the Internet was new.
4. John was involved successfully in direct sales of encyclopedias while in college, getting basic sales training at any early age. However, that kind of selling is no w passe. It has been replaced by "consultative" selling. John is skilled in this as well.
5. During John's first year in AMSOIL partnering with Shirley, our AMSOIL income increased 43%. In the last six years, our AMSOIL income has quadrupled. It increased 25% in 2007 compared to 2006.
6. John is a graduate of Providence College, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Political Science with a Pre-Law Specialty, and minoring in English. He has never stopped learning, including a Wharton School of Business course of "Finance and Accounting For The Non-Financial Executive."

7. Shirley was a classroom teacher in Christian schools for 35 years, being selected three times for inclusion of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," an honor conferred only on the nation's top 3% of all teachers. She taught history, English and Bible.
8. Shirley has been an AMSOIL Dealer for more than 30 years and a Direct Jobber for most of that time. She and her late husband, Leland, became Executive Direct Jobbers in 2000 with a 200 plus Dealers in many states. In May 2006, Shirley and John were moved up by AMSOIL, INC. to the rank of Master Direct Jobbers.
9. Shirley was selected as a Finalist by the Greater St. Petersburg Area of Commerce's Business of the Year Awards for 2003--in the Rookie of The Year Category--from among 600 Entreprenurial Academy graudates.
In 2004, she competed again in this event, this time winning a Business of the Year Award in the Entrepreneurial Academy Graduate Category. This is the first time either a home-based business, or an MLM distribution organization, won a Business of the Year Award from this Chamber.
She was named a finalist by the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce in its 2003 Business of the Year Awards (homebased business category), and she received the coveted "Pioneer Award" in 2003 from the Tampa Bay Chapter of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners.
NAWBO Tampa Bay's officers and directors advanced Shirley to Membership Chair of this group for 2003-2004, after having been a member for only one year. For the 2004-2005 year, she advanced to Vice President--Member Services, overseeing seven operating committee chairpersons.

Alquist Enterprises is the name of the combined business holdings and operations of John J. & Shirley S. Alquist. Alquist Enterprises, founded in Charlotte in 1987, now is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, but serves markets nationally.
Today's Alquist Enterprises resulted from merging John's business planning, business consulting, and professional public speaking and Internet businesses with Shirley's AMSOIL distributorship in February 2002, when John & Shirley were married. The AMSOIL distribution business was named The Alquist Advantage Network.
